Green Your Freight

Our consortium is formed by Greek and Italian entities from the private and the public sector.

The composition of the consortium, their role in the project and the acronyms used for each partner (in bold) are summarized in the figure.

UTH is responsible for the overall management of the project. It acts as the intermediary for all communications between the beneficiaries and the European Commission.

MILITOS is a business consultancy with extensive experience in implementing EU-funded projects, LIFE projects included. Additionally, MILITOS has a strong communication and dissemination expertise, having designed, and implemented more than 60 C&D plans for private clients and EU projects.

MILITOS has a wide network of contacts in the logistics sector in Greece and across Europe and its participation in the project concerns the strategic positioning of GYF service in the market.

The project’s demonstrators come from different transport and commercial sectors and their role is to demonstrate its effectiveness and catalytic potential by piloting the GYF service. CODOGNOTTO and DELATOLAS are logistic companies that perform road freight transport. They participate as User Type 1 (UT1) demonstrators with the perspective to also act as User Type 2 (UT2) demonstrators through cooperation with other operators.

TAXI KOSMOS 18300 and VOLOS TAXI are both taxi dispatch companies active in passenger mobility. At present they are not involved in logistics activities, as their services are inextricably linked to passenger mobility in the public’s mind. Not commonly acknowledged is the fact that they possess the entitlement to conduct freight transport operations!

MEDITERRA S.A, METRO, GRIVAKI and PLASTINDS are SMEs in the retail sector that operate online shops. They participate in the project as UT2. MEDITERRA S.A. is known for its most famous brand (Masticha) and GRIVAKI is a technological and gadget store (electroland.gr). METRO is one of the largest supermarkets in Greece operating more than 400 stores and employing more than 10,600 employees. PLASTINDS is an Italian retailer selling roller blinds and mosquito nets operating in various cities of Italy.

All project demonstrators play a key role in the 2 phases of real-life demonstration ( WP3 & WP4 ). However, their participation in the project is not limited to the role of demonstrator. Their high level of knowledge of the market, its regulations, key players, as well as their networks with national and international professional organisations in the transport and trade sector assist all project activities. The project demonstrators provide consultation and feedback within WP2 (Upscaling GYF Platform), WP5 (Business Plan) and WP6 (Replication, Exploitation and Sustainability) and support dissemination activities in WP7. There are additional parties that will support the project from Greece, Italy, Spain, and Germany, either acting as demonstrators (UT1 & UT2) or provide support in financing the project or finally exchanging knowledge and supporting policy recommendations.
